Technology support

Practical help when software gets in the way.

Most technology problems are not complicated once someone sits down with them. We give general, practical assistance with the tools people use every day, and we are clear about what is and is not within our scope.

Software setup and configuration

Getting an application installed, signed in and set up with sensible options, so it suits the way it will actually be used.

Understanding digital applications

Explaining what a tool is for, which parts matter day to day, and how it relates to the other software already in use.

User onboarding

Helping new users get started on a system, with the first tasks demonstrated and written notes to keep afterwards.

Basic troubleshooting

Working through everyday problems — sign-in trouble, missing files, settings that have changed, features that stopped behaving as expected.

Remote assistance

Where it is appropriate, we can talk through a problem over a call or a shared screen rather than in person.

In practice

How a support session usually goes

Support is arranged in advance and kept to a clear, agreed purpose. We would rather solve one thing properly and leave you able to repeat it than rush through a list.

  1. 01

    You describe the problem

In your own words, by email or on the phone. Screenshots help but are not necessary.

  2. 02

We agree what to look at

Including whether it is something we can help with, and whether a call or shared screen would be useful.

  3. 03

    We work through it together

You stay in control of your own device and accounts throughout, doing the steps as they are explained.

  4. 04

    You keep the notes

A short written summary of what was changed and how to do it again next time.

Scope of our help

What we do and do not take on

  • We work with everyday consumer and office software rather than specialist industry systems.
  • Support is guidance and instruction. We explain and demonstrate, and we tell you plainly when something falls outside what we do.
  • Anything that needs a hardware repair, a supplier account holder, or a specialist provider is referred on rather than attempted.

Describe the problem and we will tell you if we can help

If it is outside what we do, we will say so straight away rather than take the work on.
